How should Christian couples respond to a prenatal diagnosis of disability?

Question #25

Every child, able or disabled, is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Killing a child for disability is partiality and murder (James 2:1; Exodus 20:13). Trust God, seek wise medical care, gather church support, and remember Christ's power is perfected in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

If you are tempted to kill your child because he or she is going to be burdensome to you due to a disability, consider how you would feel if someone else decided you should die because you burdened them (Matthew 7:12), and confess this sin to God who provides the gift of children.
