Are hormonal contraceptives that prevent implantation morally permissible?

Question #21

Share

Anything that prevents implantation ends the life of a newly conceived child. Scripture honors the fruit of the womb as God’s heritage (Psalm 127:3) and forbids the shedding of innocent blood (Exodus 20:13;Proverbs 6:16-17). Methods that function by killing an embryo violate God’s law and love of neighbor; Christians should abstain completely from this type of contraceptive, never being willing to risk the life of their unborn child.
